Do Firms Delay Technology Adoption? A Survival Analysis Approach

Analyzed firm-level smartphone technology adoption of 4G, 4.5G, and 5G using Kaplan-Meier survival curves and LOWESS smoothing in Python. Transformed panel data into event history format to estimate adoption lags and created visualizations to communicate adoption patterns. The analysis revealed that 4.5G experienced significantly slower and more staggered uptake compared to 4G and 5G.
